On Aug 5th , 2010 Chinese audiences can enjoy a complimentary concert featuring performance of Teatro Regio Torino under the direction of Conductor Gianandrea Noseda at the Red Hall of the Expo Park as part of the rich cultural programme of the Italian Pavilion at World Expo 2010 Shanghai.
Teatro Regio Torino

Teatro Regio was established in 1740 in Torino as the theatre of the Savoy court. With the end of the 1800’s seeing a period of great prestige in the presence of Arturo Toscanini and world premieres of two masterpieces by Giacomo Puccini: Manon Lescaut and La bohème.
In recent years, the production output of the Theatre has increased considerably in terms of both quantity and quality, ensuring the Regio’s undisputed role in the foreground of the international artistic scene. This is demonstrated by the many co-productions with major European institution, important tours abroad and its record audiences.
Gianandrea Noseda - Music Director

Gianandrea Noseda appears all over the world with all of the major orchestras. In 2005, his live performances in Manchester of Beethoven’s complete symphonies with BBC Philharmonic have attracted 1.4 million download requests in a BBC radio trial. He has very intense CD and DVD recording activity and his extensive discography includes both symphonic and opera.
With the Teatro Regio Torino, he has also begun increasingly important international activity which led to several European tours and performances in Japan and in China for the World Expo 2010 Shanghai. Future projects with the Metropolitan Opera House NY include La traviata, Lucia di Lammermoor (on tour in Japan in 2011) and Macbeth; also debuts with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington and the Orchestre de Paris.
