From 29 May to 8 June 2023, the Wiener Symphoniker kicks off its 2023 China tour as the first leading international symphony orchestra, with 7 performances in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenyang and Tianjin. The orchestra will perform under the baton of Adam Fischer and Lio Kuokman in a “double-conductor”line-up with violinist Julian Rachlin to perform works by Brahms, Richard Strauss, Beethoven, Mozart, Johann Strauss Jr. and Kreisler.

Founded in 1900, the Wiener Symphoniker was the first orchestra to perform Beethoven's complete symphonies in the Austrian capital. The humanist and forward-looking nature of Beethoven and Viennese Romantics seemed tailor-made for the orchestra, who remain top interpreters of such repertoire to this day. With their pioneering spirit, the Wiener Symphoniker has become one of the most important orchestras in Europe to premiere new works. They have given world premieres of many milestones in music history, and these concerts have opened the door to a whole new world of music and made these sounds accessible to a wider public.

With audiences and fans across the country eagerly awaiting their performances, the orchestra, conductors and violinist will be performing with great skill and full of enthusiasm.
