The Anders Bergcrantz Quartet is a brand new constellation created in 2008. After performing with the quintet format for many years, Anders returns to his quartet instrumentation: Trumpet-Piano-Bass & Drums. "The Quartet gives the music even more space and openness... More freedom.. A chance to develop even further" says Anders.

Anders Bergcrantz

Anders Bergcrantz was born in Malmö, Sweden 1961 and grew up into a family of musicians. His father Sven Bergcrantz was a well known jazz pianist in the south of Sweden. After 3 years at the Music High school, 1 year at the Berklee College of Music, 2 years at the Malmö Music Conservatory and after 23 years of growing up and living with jazz, Anders started to play professionally although he played gigs already at the age of 15. Soon got a growing reputation and started to be invited as both guest soloist and member of different constellation homes and abroad.

Anders Bergcrantz is one of a kind. His big, dark and warm sound is unique. He speaks with his instrument in a lyrical, dramatic, dynamic and very soulful way. His technique is tremendous. Anders is linked to the legacy of trumpet players like Freddie Hubbard, Woody Shaw, Lee Morgan and Miles Davis...    But has strongly found his own personal voice and style. He has played with a great number of jazz stars throughout his career, artists like Billy Harper, Mike Brecker, Benny Golson, Billy Hart, Lee Konitz, Dave Liebman, Carla Bley, Steve Swallow, Adam Nussbaum, Monica Zetterlund, Bobo Stenson, Palle Danielsson, McCoy Tyner and has performed at places like The Blue Note clubs in Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Ronnie Scott′s in London, Carnegie Hall, Sweet Basil in NYC, Montreux Jazz festival, Berliner Jazztage, Red Sea festival etc. Anders has received a great number of awards and prizes all along. In 2008, for the second time, he received the foremost Swedish jazz award, "THE GOLDEN RECORD" and was awarded "JAZZ MUSICIAN OF THE YEAR". His latest CD "About Time" was voted as "BEST CD OF THE YEAR" by the Swedish Radio's listeners.

Robert Tjäderkvist

Robert Tjäderkvist studied at The Malmö Music Conservatory and nowadays teachs music at The Spyken Music High School in Lund. Besides being a great pianist, Robert is a sophisticated and very skilled composer. He plays piano in the Modern School of Jazz with a great sense of chords and rhythms.

Patrik Grundström  

Patrik Grundström was born in 1985 in the city of Härnösand, Sweden. He studied music at the well known Swedish Music School in Skurup among other places prior to that. Patrik is the bassist of the band and has a great ability to focus, swing and contribute musically. Patrik is a member of many band constellations in Sweden and is a brand new member of the Anders Bergcrantz Quartet.

Ulrik Ording

Ulrik Ording is a new member of the Anders Bergcrantz Quartet. He was born 1985 in Århus, Denmark but has lived in Sweden for the last three years. He started to play drums at the age of 11, studying and exploring all kinds of music. Ulrik is now studying at The Royal College of Music in Stockholm. He is a drummer who put great energy, focus and spontaneity into the band. His ability to swing and groove is also extraordinary.

 
Piano Recital

China’s love affair with piano performances is never ending and has become a major influence amongst the Chinese audience. Western piano recital is very much alive amongst the western classical fans. For years, Wu Promotion has successfully handled some of the world’s most renowned pianist and young emerging artists. In collaboration with some of the most renowned international piano competitions, we offer the opportunity for the winning emerging artists of such competitions to tour in China; amongst them include the International Franz Liszt Competition, the Géza Anda Competition and the Maria Canals Competition.
