The tradition of Italian “Basilicata” Region and the discovering of the ancient melodies became a wide ethnic project through the “Ethnos” Group. The European Multi-ethnic Cultural Association, born in 2003 by a group of friends from Basilicata Region, shows Basilicata’s culture performing charming ancient music, in according with their land's love.

In order to follow this aim, the President, Mr. Franco Accinni, and every member of the Association would remind the grandfathers and fathers'dailyness: their memory still exists and is rich in emotions, which will be amplified by the magic of the music.

The reasearch of the love for the native land carries “Ethnos” Group to show and perform with lullabies, choral hymns,“tarantella” dances and popular ballads, that will be re-arranged in pieces with a new musicality.

“Ethnos” Group performs with two guitarists and a voice, re-creating the life of a generation, the generation of the Italian “Basilicata” Region’s farming community with its ancient mysterious charisma, shown like in a imaginary trip.

The dialogue among the guitars and the voice will show, at the same time, the moments of that life, lived in another slower time, both magic and concrete: the slow and measured work in the fields, the pain, the death, the redemption. In this way“Ethnos” Group will try to give a face to the people from Basillicata Region with the melodies and sounds, and with a strong voice evocation.

In this space the group proposes a show which is performed through standard melodies and another language, directly linked with a contemporary expressive form, bypassing any geographical and cultural border.
