Macao Youth Symphony Orchestra's German Tour finalizes perfectly

Macao Youth Symphony Orchestra finalized its first German Tour commemorating its 20th anniversary under the organization of Wu Promotion.

From August 3rd to 13th, Macao Youth Symphony Orchestra finalized its first German Tour commemorating its 20th anniversary under the organization of Wu Promotion. This year marks the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Germany and the 500th year since the respectful theologian Martin Luther launched the Protestant Reformation. During its ten-day tour, the orchestra performed in Neubrandenburg Concert Hall, the Berlin Jesus-Christus Kirche, the Dresden Kreuzkirche and Eisenach Georgenkirche.

Though it’s MYSO’s first German tour, it’s the third time MYSO works with Wu Promotion for touring internationally. As the youngest group in this year's German-Chinese cultural program, MYSO performed The Symphony No. 9 in E minor, "From the New World" ( Op. 95) composed by Antonín Dvořák, The Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64 composed by Felix Mendelssohn, Dance of the Yao People and received applause from the German audience.

Between August 3rd and 6th, the orchestra appeared at ‘Neubrandenburg Festival’, performing flash mob on various streets, as well as playing chamber music and two symphony orchestra concerts. The communication and co-performance between MYSO and local youth orchestra is the best expression and witness of the friendship between these two countries. On August 8th , MYSO performed in the Berlin Jesus-Christus Kirche, Mr. Chen Ping, Culture Attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Germany and Ms. Ke Tianlian, Director of Macao Office to the European Union attended to the performance, deeply appreciating the work and contribution the orchestra was making for the German-Chinese cultural program. On August 11th, Wu Promotion’s founder Mr.Wu Zezhou joined the tour to support specially the performance in the Dresden Kreuzkirche. On August 13th, the 2017 German Tour of MYSO finalized successfully in Martin Luther’s hometown, Eisenach.

Apart from the concerts, young musicians in MYSO also visited local opera houses, churches and former residences of historical and cultural celebrities. By travelling along the Revolution Road those young artists learned about the relationship between classical music and religion, thus understood classical music deeper.
