From October 15 to 19, 2023, Shanghai Yue Opera was invited to participate in the Bangkok's International Festival of Dance & Music and performed "Dream of the Red Chamber" for the first time in Thailand, which was also the first time that a Chinese group was invited to participate in the Festival. The two performances attracted nearly 2,000 audiences. Many overseas Chinese audiences were deeply moved by the familiar and beautiful traditional Chinese opera in a foreign country and burst into tears, cheering and applauding for a long time.

In addition to the performance, the artists of Shanghai Yue Opera also participated in the live TV broadcast and master class. Invited by Thai PBS TV, the artists performed the classic excerpt "Reading the Western Chamber" live. At the Chinese Cultural Center in Bangkok, a vivid and wonderful master class on Yue Opera was held, which introduced Yue Opera to 100 local audience members from the costume to the body techniques.
