On 7th September to 15th September, 2023, Wu Promotion led the Kunqu Opera classic "The Peony Pavilion" to Paris, kicking off a tour to promote Kunqu culture in Europe. On the evenings of 14th and 15th September and, the Nanjing Kunqu Opera version of “The Peony Pavilion" performed by the Jiangsu Performing Arts Group Kunqu Theater was successfully staged at the Le Théâtre Libre in Paris as part of the "Encounter of Civilizations: Chinese Kunqu Opera Jiangsu Week". In addition to the performances, there also featured many wonderful cultural exchange activities held in Paris.

On 9th September, over a hundred Kunqu opera enthusiasts and lovely kids gathered at the Centre culturel de Chine à Paris for a interactive workshop.

On 11th September, members of the Jiangsu Performing Arts Group went to the Manuel International School in Paris to hold a Kunqu Opera master class, leading French young people to experience the culture of Kunqu Opera.

On 13th September, Kunqu Opera at French Museums was held at Guimet National Museum of Asian Arts and gave a performance of classical Kunqu Opera. Afterwards, famous Kun Opera performers Kong Aiping and Shi Xiaoming played the roles of Du Liniang and Liu Mengcheng on the streets of Paris, leaving their figures and footprints in front of iconic buildings in Paris.

On 15 September, the Kunqu Opera performers held an international symposium in Paris and a number of exciting cultural exchange activities. The collision of Chinese and Western cultures was a complete success, with many foreigners showing strong interest in the culture of Kunqu Opera.
