Trondheim Symphony Orchestra Performed for "Project Hope" in Nanping

On the occasion of Trondheim Symphony Orchestra's 100th year anniversary, the orchestra, together with Chief Conductor, Eivind Aadland toured in 4 cities in China.

On 21st May, the orchestra and its conductor premiered at the capital’s Beijing Century Theatre.  The concert was attended by Norwegian Ambassador, Mr. Svein Saetert and Trond Giske from the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry. Mr.Trond Giske is the former Culture Minister of Norway. He contributed a lot to the cultural exchange between China and Norway. The successful performance was met with an enthusiastic crowd, especially with guest soloist, Henning Kraggerud’s exceptionally perfect execution of Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E Minor Op. 64 and when the orchestra beautifully performed the well known Chinese repertoire, Jasmine Flower.

At the evening on 24th May, with the collaboration of Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, Wu Promotion and Nanping Youth League, the orchestra performed for the Charity, Project Hope Foundation at Nanping Grand Theatre.  The excited crowd not only showed their enjoyment with standing ovation to the impeccable performances of the orchestra, but also for the meaningful charity project.

All the proceeds of the evening went to Project Hope Foundation.  Inspired by the leadership of Wu Promotion’s generous donation of 50,000 RMB, the 92 musicians of the orchestra has also donated 100 RMB each to the charity.

At Suzhou Science & Culture Arts Centre on 26th May, the performance had a special significance to the audiences, the orchestra, and the conductor as it will be Eivind Aadland’s last tour and last concerts.

Trondheim Symphony Orchestra’s enjoyed a perfect finale on 28th May at Norwegian Pavilion at World EXPO Shanghai with the world celebrated conductor, Tan Dun.
