The Black Light Theatre Srnec is the first black light theatre in the world. In the period of August 3rd to 27th, the theatre toured in China for the first time. Their classic Antologia, which includes nine programmes, was staged thirteen times for audiences in Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Shaoxing, Yueyang and Kaifeng.

Black light theatre, as an innovative type of art, was invented by Jiří Srnec who is also the artistic director of the The Black Light Theatre Srnec. Since its invention, this art form was widely welcomed and acclaimed by the public. Antologia contains many excellent repertories that gained international accolades. The most famous piece The Horse, was performed at the 2002 NATO Summit in Prague, to represent Czech Culture. Srnec's theatre has created a magical wonderland for the audience in which: clothes can fly, boxes magically swallow people, a goose jumps around uncontrolled and even a horse runs above the floor. Their exquisite and humorous performance won the hearts of every single audience.

On August 4th and 5th, the theatre was invited to perform at "The 2nd China Children's Theatre Festival" where they gained an award for excellent repertoire from the China National Theatre for Children, also the organizer of the festival. In Shanghai, tickets for their performance were hard to get, due to their enormous popularity. In Henan, particularly their performance of The Chimpanzee, The Fishing, The Pingpang Competition and The Boxing was popular, as those improvised parts were hilarious and made the audience burst into laughter. The audience welcomes the theatre's next China tour.

The influential Chinese TV Channel CCTV and many other media all reported about their China tour which lasted about 30 days. The artists, who were touched by the enthusiasm of the audience and showed a deep interest in Chinese culture, are looking forward to their next China visit.
