At the threshold of 2013, the Symphony Orchestra of the State of Mexico came to tour China once again, giving performances in Beijing, Nanning, Guangzhou and Macau under the renowned Maestro Enrique Batiz. Combining a rich repertoire with the brilliant performances, the orchestra left a deep impression to the Chinese audience. Latin style mingled with passion, this is what the music lovers in China will always remember this orchestra with.

During this tour, the Symphony Orchestra of the State of Mexico played many well-known compositions such as The Blue Danube, Voices of Spring, Furioso Polka, Pizzicato Polka by Johann Strauss, Jr. Additionally, they also played Villalobos’ work Bachiana Brasileira n° 5 which was especially created for eight cellos in corporation with the distinguished soprano Alejandra Sandoval. The violinist Dalia Kuznecovaite played Oblivion by Piazzolla and Violin Concerto by Ponce which won the critical acclaim and enduring applause from the audience.

In Macau, the Symphony Orchestra of the State of Mexico cooperated with the Macao Youth Symphony Orchestra and gave a concert at the Macau Cultural Center. This is another international cooperation for Macao Youth Symphony Orchestra since its co-performance with the National Youth Orchestra of Germany in July, 2012. This performance was warmly welcomed by the audience and won the favor from local media.
