Tehran Symphony Orchestra, Iran

The Tehran Symphony Orchestra founded in 1933, is Iran's oldest and largest symphony orchestra. It was originally founded as the Municipality Symphony Orchestra by Gholamhossein Minbashian, before entering its modern form under Parviz Mahmoud in 1937. In the years that followed, conductors such as Rubik (Ruben) Gregorian, Morteza Hannaneh, Haymo Taeuber, Heshmat Sanjari, and Farhad Meshkat took over as the conductors of the Orchestra.

After the 1979 revolution many musicians of the TSO emigrated to Europe and the US. For some years Heshmat Sanjari and then Fereydoun Nasseri were the conductors. The current conductor of TSO is Ali Rahbari, former chief conductor of the Brussels Philharmonic.

1933-1979 In the golden age of the orchestra, many notable musicians like Yehudi Menuhin and Isaac Stern played with the orchestra.

In 2005, Maestro Rahbari was invited to Iran as the Permanent Conductor of Tehran Symphony Orchestra. His return and performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, after thirty years in the country, become the biggest music event of the past three decades.

Presently, he works as a Music Director and Principal conductor of Tehran Symphony Orchestra.

Kambarkan Ensemble of the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic

Folklore ensemble “Kambarkan” – the youngest collective in republic. It has been created in 1988. In structure of young ensemble, but professional musicians who were united with huge love to national tools and the Kyrgyz folk music. The ensemble “Kambarkan” is unique collective where the most ancient musical instruments are collected, such as; komuz, kyl-kyak, temir-komuz, kerney, surnay, sybyzgy, jylaajyn, dobulbas, zuuldak, asa-tayak, chopo-choor, chogoyno-choor etc. The basis of repertoire of ensemble is made with products of such outstanding national composers as; Togtogul, Niyazaly, Murataly, Atay, Ybrai, Karamoldo. Composers; Jumabaev, Jumakunov, Abdrakhmanov. The repertoire of ensemble replenishes with various processing and transpositions of national songs, melodies and folk tunes, fragments from the epos “Manas”, ceremonial and genre dances. Own hallmark to collective sees in a skilful combination of national traditions to the present, in expansion of the genre range. Sensitive penetration in build national intonations and expressive opportunities of tools, simplicity and cleanliness of tunes, characterizes the program of ensemble.

The ensemble “Kambarkan” was the winner of the international festivals of folklore collectives in city Alma-Ata in 1989. In city Baku in 1990. Three times in 1991, 1992 and 1994 represented the Kirghiz art in Turkey, and also in England, in France, in USA. In 1993-1995 “Kambarkan” was the participant of week of Kyrgyzstan in Germany public and has acted with the big creative success. In 1995 the ensemble was been invited to Japan for the period of 45 days, for participation in the international folklore festival devoted to “The Great Silk Way”. Known Japanese firm “Min- on” has organized tour. Concerts of “Kambarkan” have passed with tremendous success to what that fact testifies, that “Kambarkan” has received the repeated invitation for the period of 2.5 months.

The ensemble “Kambarkan” is proud of the soloists; the national actress of Kyrgyz Republic and the deserved actress of Republic of Kazakhstan Salamat Sadykova, the honored artist of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakyt Shatenov. In collective from the date of the basis successfully work; A. Kumenov, A. Sharshebaev , S.Adrakaev , S.Rysaliev, D.Kangeldieva, T. Karabaeva, S. Kendirbaev and also main conductor honored artist of culture of the Kyrgyz Republic  Rysbek Jumakunov who has written many original products , has made processings and arrangements.

Today the ensemble “Kambarkan” became one of the most popular collectives who regularly conducts search, reinterprets national folklore and creatively grows. 

Hayrullo Dadoboyev Folk Group

In Hayrullo Dadoboyev's group there are over 20 doyrist who were a part of group since the early childhood and to the present achieved high professional progress. In repertoire of this group there are various programs executed on drum sets, a doyra, a tablaka, a karnaa, a goblet drum, a dzhemba, the bongakh, the kongakh and so forth.

Hayrullo Dadoboyev participating in many actions of the cities and areas of the Republic of Tajikistan and abroad, in particular: in Oman, Kuwait, India, France, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan showed the high art. The head of group Hayrullo Dadoboyev uses reasonable efforts art of the Tajik doyrist was lifted on the international level and recognized around the world.

Dance Ensemble Bazmoro

Dance ensemble ≪Bazmoro≫ was organized under the guidance of the well-known choreographer Qurbon Kholov by the State Tour and Concert Establishment ≪Bazmoro≫ in 2008. It is known as a young dance group in the country consisting of 12 members. Ensemble repertoire is filled with national and foreign dance numbers. Ensemble program can offer live and phonogram performance. During its activities dance ensemble ≪Bazmoro≫ has taken part in some international events in India, Turkey, France, Sultanate of Oman (twice), Turkmenistan and Russian Federation.

The Orchestra of Kazakh Folk Instruments Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory, Kazakhstan

This nationally acclaimed musical ensemble continues to promote excellence in traditional Kazakh performance. Esteemed composer and conductor, Akhmet Zhubanov founded the orchestra nearly a century ago. Since independence, the orchestra was led by several state--‐recognized artists such as Shamgon Kazhgaliev and Aytkali Zhaimov. Under the direction of the brilliant dombrists and conductors, Arman Zhudebayev and Ablay Tlepbergenov, the orchestra in recent years has avidly pursued venues both at home and abroad. Such tours include:

  • Annual tours throughout Kazakhstan (Multiple Venues, Kazakhstan, 2002 –to present)
  • Tour of Russia at the Russian Gnesin Academy of Music Great Hall and the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatoire Great Hall (Russia, 2012)
  • Tour of Germany featuring the Chamber and Folk Conservatoire Orchestras in Berlin, Hamburg and Bonn (Germany, 2010)
  • Tour of Turkey in Istanbul, Amasya, Karabuk and Ankara (Turkey, 2007)
  • Tour of China (2007)

The Kazakh National Instrumental Orchestra is the face of the Traditional Music Department of Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory and has played a major role shaping modern educational policies in Kazakhstan as well as and safeguarding the artistic richness of styles, genres and forms of Kazakh traditional music.
