Chamber Soloists Lucerne

The Chamber Soloists Lucerne were founded at the turn of the new millenium.

This ensemble consists of internationally acclaimed musicians, and a large number of the members are Professors at the Musikhochschule of Lucerne, Switzerland. Appearances at several festivals: Lucerne festival 2001 (artistic leader: Isaac Stern), Mozart – Tage Lucerne with Karl Leister (first Clarinet of the Berlin Philharmonic) in January 2003, Festival of Rolandseck/Bonn (Germany) with Pinchas Zuckerman and Chaim Taub (first violin of Israel Philharmonic) etc.

Vladimir Ashkenazy and James Galway take part for the musical- and artistic support of the Chamber Soloists Lucerne.

In their quest for entertaining and fulfilling programs, the Chamber Soloists Lucerne play works from trio to nonet, their concerts and programs spanning the broad stylistic range of chamber-music literature, from baroque to contemporary music.

Following the enormous success of their concerts, and the release of their first CD with the Piano quartet op.15 by Fauré and Beethoven's Septet op.20, which was received publicly and by the press with enthusiasm as well as the latest CD with chamber-music by Thüring Bräm; the ensemble was awarded the Cultural Prize of the Private Culture Club Lucerne for the season 2000-2001. The presentation ceremony took place in conjunction with the summer concert at the Hotel Schweizerhof in Lucerne on 25 June 2000.

The third Concert season included four subscription-series concerts as well as a nationwide tour of Switzerland in March 2002, with the first Swiss performance of a sextet, written in 2000 by Krzysztof Penderecki (a resident of the city of Lucerne) and Schubert’s Octet.

Concerts at the beginning of april 03 in Warshaw / Polen, an invitation of the University of warshaw (including 2 concerts in the famous Chopin hall) Southamerica concerttour with 10 concerts in Argentina and Uruguay (July/Aug.04). Various projects and exchange concerts with Cleveland (USA) and Adelaide (Aus) are planned for 2006.

It is also a great desire of the ensembles members, to meet and work with talented musicians, in masterclasses and musical encounters, be that in chamber music tuition, or in individual lessons.
