In the 470th anniversary of its existence, Staatskapelle Dresden successfully realized another China tour in 2018. With the support of National Centre for the Performing Arts, Guangdong Xinghai Concert Hall, Macao Cultural Center and Instituto Cultural do Governo da R.A.E de Macau, Staatskapelle Dresden presented master pieces of Schumann to nearly 7,000 music fans and impressed Chinese audiences with its interpretation of the “German Romantic”. The tour is the 7th cooperation between Staatskapelle Dresden and Wu Promotion since 2011.

On October 22nd, Staatskapelle Dresden performed at NCPA as a part of the “Fine Classical music series”. Under the baton of principal conductor Maestro Christian Thielemann, the concert was a memorable event and praised highly by Beijing audiences. On October 24th-25th Staatskapelle Dresden has given its debut in Guangzhou as part of the “Xinghai Concert Hall 20th anniversary music season” presenting four Schumann symphony works attracting thousands of audience. Invited by Instituto Cultural do Governo da R.A.E de Macau, the orchestra finished their entire tour with the closing performance at the 32nd Macau International Music Festival.
