Wu Promotion arranged for a delegation of 50 from Anhui Acrobatics Troupe to participate in the Muscat International Festival for Arts, Heritage and Creativity in Oman and perform from February 9 to March 1, 2012.

A host of professional troupes from across the world gathered for the annual Muscat International Festival, one of the most significant cultural events celebrated in Oman. Middle Eastern and African countries made presentations marked by their distinct cultural characteristics, attracting a large number of audiences.

This was the first time a Chinese cultural organization participated and performed at the festival. Anhui Acrobatics Troupe performed on the main stage by the sea, at the foot of a mountain. The circular auditorium can accommodate thousands of audiences. Anhui Acrobatics Troupe put up performances with unique Chinese characteristics, which include plate spinning - a combination of aesthetics and skills, climbing through buckets with childlike innocence and humor, and glamorous group cycling feats, among others.

The shows received great acclaim and even a standing ovation from local audience. During the weekends, more than 3,000 spectators would gather for the show. Some even stood in the aisles. After each show, enthusiastic members of the audience wanted to be photographed with the acrobats, showing a strong interest in acrobatics and in China.

Reporters from Oman TV as well as freelance journalists and writers from Oman, India and Yemen have covered the shows extensively. The organizing committee of the festival spoke higly of the show and wished for further cooperation in the future.
