The Osiris Trio was formed in 1988. Since then, the trio has toured five continents and was twice given the honour to accompany Her Majesty the Queen of The Netherlands on an official state visit abroad. The ensemble has won a number of Dutch awards, including the ‘Philip Morris Finest Selection’ award and the Annie Bosboom Prijs of the Kersjes Foundation.

The trio’s discography encompasses two centuries of repertoire for piano trio, nine new pieces composed for the Osiris Trio and a recording of well-known opera arias arranged for the trio by Bob Zimmerman. It also includes song cycles and the highly regarded recording of Olivier Messiaens Quatuor pour la fin du temps. All recordings of the Osiris Trio have been welcomed with the highest ratings and excellent reviews in the press.

On stage the Osiris Trio has demonstrated an adventurous and open minded approach to the art of performing chamber music. Traditional performances of the 'golden' repertoire for piano trio go along with staged performances of Klas Torstensson's In großer Sehnsucht with soprano Charlotte Riedijk and theatrical programs for younger audiences with puppet theatre artist Neville Tranter.

Recent tours were made to the United States,Canada, South America, Indonesia, and Europe. The trio has regular residencies at the Orlando Festival.

Ellen Corver, Peter Brunt and Larissa Groeneveld hold teaching positions at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague.

In 2013 the Osiris Trio celebrated their 25 anniversary. The trio is supported by the Dutch government.

Review

"Excellent in every musical dimension of color, dynamic, range and expression…and they are consistently well balanced together as an ensemble."
