Scandinavian pianist Elisabeth Nielsen is one of the most unique and promising musicians of her generation.

She was born in Copenhagen in 1993, and began to study Bournonville ballet at the Royal Danish Theatre and play the piano at the age of six. Elisabeth is an award-winning pianist currently performing in Denmark and across Europe.

She graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in 2014 and got her Soloist postgraduate diploma in 2017 after studies in Vienna and Copenhagen, playing her debut concert in August 2017 with the innovative project "Carnaval", which was a fusion of video art, live electronics, music by Schumann as well as contemporary composers.

Elisabeth took master classes and studied with prominent names such as Lilya Zilberstein, Federico Gianello, Konstantin Scherbakov, Niklas Sivelöv, Boris Berman, Marianna Shirinyan, Christopher Hinterhuber, and Jan Jiracek von Arnim, and is able to combine best elements from different piano schools in her playing.

In October 2012, Elisabeth won three prizes at the international piano competition for young musicians in Enschede, Holland, which led to her performing the Saint-Saëns Piano Concerto no. 4 with the Netherlands Symphony orchestra in October 2014.

In 2012, after winning First Prize at the Salieri competition in Italy, Elisabeth was invited to study at the first Steinway Academy in Europe, an international school for gifted young musicians in Verona, Italy with prof. Federico Gianello.

In February 2017 she won the Scandinavian Yamaha competition and was awarded the YMFE scholarship.

Elisabeth has released 2 CD's with the label Danacord, featuring works by Bach, Schumann, Prokofiev, Beethoven and her native, Carl Nielsen. Both recordings have generated positive reviews in Denmark and abroad.
