Pianist Elisso Bolkvadze has won great critical acclaim for her unique sensibility, power and sincerity. She has performed as soloist with many orchestras throughout the USA, Europe and Russia.

She won numerous famous international piano competitions, such as Van Cliburn, (USA), Vianna da Motta (Lisbon, Portugal), Axa International Piano Competition (Dublin, Ireland), Marguerite Long competition, and special price for "the best interpretation of French music" (Paris, France) Bach International Competition in Leipzig.

A superstar in her country of birth, Elisso Bolkvadze was also awarded with "The medal of Georgian Government", one of the most prestigious national honors. She received decoration from the City Hall of Tbilisi in 2010 for her successful cultural influence for Georgia.

After she enjoyed great success at Van Cliburn International Contest, Elisso Bolkvadze was given the chance to play many concerts in top auditoriums. The pianist performed with orchestras and recitals at famous halls such as Kennedy Center (Washington, USA), Pasadena Auditorium (Los Angeles, USA), Santa Fe Festival (USA), Miami Arts In Florida (USA), Orange County Center (USA), Orchestra Hall Chicago, Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Salle Pleyel and Salle Gaveau (Paris, France), Chopin Festival in Poland, Ravello Festival in Italy, Herkulessaal (Munich, Germany), Alte Oper (Frankfurt, Germany), engaged with Gewandhaus Orchestra (Leipzig, Germany), Radio France Orchestra (France), St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra (Russia), Vilnius National Orchestra (Lithuania), National Philharmonic of Ukraine and many more.

Elisso Bolkvadze collaborated with famous conductors such as Peter Altrichter, Saulius Sondeckis, Djanzug Khakidze, Michel Tabachnik, Stanislaw Skrowaczewski, Laurent Petitgirard, Mihkel Kutson or Mykola Diadiura.

In February 2007 French national TV LCI aired a full documentary film about Elisso Bolkvadze. Her performances regularly appear on Mezzo TV.

Recent highlights in 2010 include numerous festivals such as Ljublijana Festival, Ravello Festival (Italy), Sofia International Festival, concerts with Orchestre Colonne at Salle Pleyel and Salle Gaveau (Paris, France), Vilnius Philharmonic Orchestra (Lithuania) and the opening of the concert season with Innsbruck Symphonic Orchestra.

For 2011 and 2012 the pianist is scheduled to perform Mozart's Concerto No. 21 and Concerto in G major by Ravel with various orchestras at several occasions.

Elisso Bolkvadze recorded for Sony a broad concerto program by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Saint-Saëns and Liszt under the direction of Djansug Kakhidze. Elisso Bolkvadze's new CD "Saint-Saëns Concert No.2", released by Swiss Cascavelle label, has met great critical acclaim in the media: "Outstanding sensibility" - Figaroscop (2010/10), "Brilliant virtuosity" and "chic personality" - Classica (2010/10).

Born in Tiflis, Georgia, Elisso Bolkvadze began her musical studies at the early age of four and was accepted at Prodigy School. She performed her first concert with orchestra at the age of seven. Elisso Bolkvadze attended master classes at Tatiana Nikolaeva's in Moscow and at Professor and Composer Michel Sogny's in France and in Austria.

Recently Elisso created her own charitable music foundation "Lyra" with the mission of inspiring the young generation of Georgian classical pianists and promote their career.
