Maria Nemtsova was born in Moscow, Russia in 1984 and began playing the piano at the age of five. By the age of 6 Maria won her first piano competition.

Maria Nemtsova was born in Moscow, Russia in 1984 and began playing the piano at the age of five. By the age of 6 Maria won her first piano competition. In 2002, she was accepted into the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she studied with the renowned pianist Yuri Slessarev. Maria later on studied at the Royal College of Music with Professor Dmitry Alexeev where she completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Music Performance with Distinction.

Maris has won many prizes and achievements including the 1st prize of the 2002 Serebryakov Piano international competition in Russia, the 1st prize of the 2005 International Concerto Competition in the USA, the 1st prize of the 2009 International "Esecuzione Musicale” Piano competition in Italy, the Special Prize at the 2009 Perrenoud Foundation International Competition in Vienna, and the Recital Prize at Dudley International Piano competition in UK, 2011. In addition, she is also the Gold Medalist from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of dance and music.

Whilst at the College, Maria was invited to perform in many festivals and concerts, one of which was the Duke of Edinburgh`s Award International Gala Concert at the RCM in the presence of HRH The Earl of Wessex. She also performed in numerous international festivals in the USA, Italy, England and so on. In 2010, Maria gave her solo debut at the Carnegie Hall in New York City. She had given performances in places like the Wigmore Hall and the Steinway Hall in London, the Moscow International Centre for Performing Arts, the Bluthner Hall in Vienna and so on. She had also given recitals in countries like Israel, Austria, Germany, Russia etc.
