The Verbier Festival in Switzerland, represented by The Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2018 on tour in China with Wu Promotion. From March 23 to April 1, VFCO has performed in five different cities with the support of Hong Kong City Hall, Guangzhou Xinghai Concert Hall, Jiangxi Arts Center, Beijing Concert Hall, Shaanxi Performing Arts Center and Jiangsu Centre for the Performing Arts. The concerts in Hong Kong and Beijing were highlighted as the main projects of the "Hong Kong Arts Festival" and "Beijing Concert Hall International Classical Music Season". The Swiss Embassy in China and the Switzerland Tourism had also a relevant role in this tour.

Besides demonstrating their high-standard and high-quality level, the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra was accompanied by three talented soloists: the famous cellist Gautier Capuçon, the young violinist Daniel Lozakovich and the Chinese-born but American pianist George Li. They performed together and presented the great achievements of the festival “focusing on the cultivation of young artists”.

Bach's "Violin concerto No.2 in E-Major, BWV 1042" and Saint-Saëns’s "Violin concerto No.1 in a-Minor, BWV1041", "Piano concerto No.2 in g-minor, Op.22" were the pieces performed by the soloists. Beethoven’s "Symphony No.2 in D-Major" was conducted by music director Gábor Takács-Nagy. These outstanding performances have evidenced the exquisite and flexible characteristics of chamber music, while featuring young soloists and internationally renowned resident orchestras from different dimensions. Nearly 6,000 music lovers attended to these five concerts enjoying an amazing experience executed by the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, described by the classical music industry as “one of the few pure chamber music feasts within the classical music community."

During the 25th Anniversary Tour in China of Verbier Festival, a press conference was hosted at the Swiss Embassy in China. The ambassador of Switzerland to China, H.E. Jean-Jacques de Dardel, Mr. Martin Engstroem, founder of the Verbier Festival and Mr. Jiatong Wu, President of Wu Promotion, reflected in their speeches the excellent cultural communication existing between the two countries and presented the celebration of the Verbier Festival's founding and the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra Chinese tour.
