Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève, the pearl of ballet art with more than 100-years history, realized its 2018 China tour with their popular repertoire Romeo and Juliet. Stations of the tour included Tianjin Grand Theatre, National Centre for the Performing Arts, where it kicked off the 2018 NCPA Dance Festival, and Shijiazhuang Grand Theatre. In order to let the audience enjoy the original work of Romeo and Juliet, the ballet group highlighted the essence of Shakespeare’s literature, the tonality of Prokofiev’s music, and the theatricality of the scenario. “The body language presented a special tension that we have never seen before”, this is what the admiring audience felt after the beautiful Romeo and Juliet.

The performance on 11th of September at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing marked the 100th performance of the production since its world premiere on May 5th 2009, which was greatly celebrated by all the team and the Chinese audience during the 2018 China Tour.
