From June 6th to 17th, 2012, the famous Belgium pianist Steven Vanhauwaert successfully held five concerts in Shanghai, Tianjin, Qingdao and Jinan.

After the performance in Nankai University, the artist enthusiastically signs autographs for the students.

Vanhauwaert has garnered a wide array of accolades and achieved international recognition. This is the second time that Vanhauwaert has come to visit China. During this tour, he not only gave a remarkable interpretation of Sposalizio, Vallee d'Obermann, and Fantasia quasi Sonata: Apres une lecture de Dante by Liszt, and Sonata in E minor opus 90 by Beethoven, but also wonderful interpretations of Autumn Moon Over the Calm Lake by Lv Wencheng, and The Shepherd Boy by He Luting. His outstanding way of performing and charms has won over endless applause from the Chinese audiences.

During the master classes in the Confucius International School of Qingdao and Jinan, Vanhauwaert instructed students with his patience and enthusiasm. Besides his perfect performance, he also showed his talents on instructing students with entirely novel methods. He incorporated dance movements to the music to help the students interpret the music on a deeper level. Moreover, the stories about the composer’s background were also helpful. With a deeper perception of the emotion and background of the composer, students could better understand the composition. After the instruction of Mr. Steven Vanhauwaert, the students evolved in a short period of time. All of the parents marveled at their children’s progress and improvement.
