China Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO) embarked on its first Cuba tour at National Theater of Cuba under the baton of Maestro Long Yu on 15th December. Together with the renowned Cuba conductor Enrique Perez Mesa, CPO presented a programme that unites Asia and Europe through the immortal notes.

On the evening of December 14th, the Ambassador of China in Cuba Chen Xi welcomed Long Yu—the Artistic Director of CPO, Li Nan—the Head of CPO and Wu Jiatong, the General Manager of Wu Promotion upon arrival.

Mr. Abel Prieto, Cuban State Councilor and Minister of Culture, visited China 21 years ago, during which Mr. Wu Zezhou, founder of Wu Promotion, and Mr. Wu Jiatong, General Manager, invited Mr.Prieto for a dinner at the Kempinski Restaurant in Beijing, exchanged views on culture, laughed and talked the night away. 21 years later, under the arrangement of Wu Promotion, the Chinese Philharmonic Orchestra concert in Cuba contributed to a long-awaited reunion of old friends.
