The 8th Peking Opera Festival completed successfully in Darwin Entertainment Center on 1st December. As part of the Darwin Entertainment Centre's 30th Anniversary celebrations Wu Promotion presented the program featuring 3 stories for Australian audience - Monkey Makes Havoc in Heaven, At the Cross Roads, and Presenting a Pearl on Rainbow Bridge. After the successful tour to Switzerland in 2015, this was the very first time for Beijing's most renowned Peking Opera ensemble to perform in Australia. Tourism and Culture Minister Lauren Moss said the opera strengthened partnerships between the NT and China. “This partnership provides an exciting opportunity to strengthen and grow our business, cultural and tourism networks with China,” Ms Moss said. Our brilliant partner, GM of the Darwin Entertainment Centre, Alan James who has actively engaged into his community and arts and culture acknowledged the importance of Peking Opera Festival coming to Darwin to improve cultural exchange and understanding. The goal of annual Peking Opera Festival is to provide an opportunity for the audience around the world to experience the most distinguished Peking Opera and get to know the beauty of Chinese arts. We are proud to say that: We made it! |
